The New GEOMAR Building
At the Seefischmarkt on Kiel’s East Shore, a unique platform for marine research has been created
With the move to the GEOMAR new building starting in autumn 2023, a plan that was already present in 2004 at the founding of IFM-GEOMAR from the Institute for (IfM) on the western shore of the Kiel Fjord with the GEOMAR Research Centre for Marine Geosciences on the eastern shore becomes reality: All four research divisions, administration and central facilities are united in one location and will be able to cooperate more easily across disciplines according to the strategy GEOMAR 2030.
