You have a genuine interest in the field of (British, American & Anglophone) Cultural Studies and would like to discuss current topics or recent scientific/academic research with other like-minded people, fellow students and teachers alike, without the pressure of evaluation?

You would like to gain experience in planning and executing talks and discussions with invited guests from the fields of arts and culture and/or Cultural Studies to bring the two together for a public audience?

Then come and join our extracurricular group “Culturitical”, jointly organized by students and teachers of the English department, where we invite and discuss different cultural actors, institutions, fields, and phenomena based on our knowledge of Cultural Studies in a peer-to-peer dynamic, thereby bridging our education gained at university with the world(s) surrounding it. Our discussions with the invited guests will be public, and they will take place at the autonomous cultural center Hansa48, Hansastraße 48, 24118 Kiel.

Our group will meet up on a weekly basis during the summer term starting from Wednesday, April 12, 2023 (the week of the beginning of lectures), at 4.15 p.m. in Room 201, and all students of the English department regardless of the level of education they are currently pursuing are very welcome to join (BA/MEd/MA45/MA90). However, basic knowledge in the field of Cultural Studies will be expected.
Please note that spots are limited, and that no credit points can be gained.
