I am an ocean scientist with a focus on the interactions of whirls, waves, and other oceanic currents and their impact on the climate.

At GEOMAR, I work as a postdoc in the project WHIRLS on the impact of small-scale currents on the heat exchange between the ocean and the atmosphere.

Scientific Foci

- interactions of ocean current on different spatio-temporal scales

- boundary layer dynamics: near-surface atmosphere and ocean as well as in the ocean above the seafloor

- impacts of fine-scale flows on the climate

- abyssal flows

- interactions of waves, whirls, and currents

- particle dispersion and associated water and heat transports
