Otto Schmidt Laboratory for Polar and Marine Research – Fellowship Program: Climate Change in the Arctic
The OSL Fellowship Program "Climate Change in the Arctic" pairs master students, graduated research assistants, and postdoctoral fellows with experienced mentors and challenges them to participate in ongoing research projects and, thus, promotes young Russian scientists by providing further training in the area of polar and marine research. In addition, it supports the research of the projects currently financed under the Agreement for Cooperation in the Field of Marine and Polar Research between the Russian Ministry for Education and Sciences and the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research.
The fellowship program helps intensify Russian-German cooperation in research and education, which further strengthens the good bilateral relations.
All in all 517 undergraduates, PhD students or senior scientists from 37 universities / research institutions of the Russian Federation have taken part in the program since 2000.
