Marine biotechnology can be described as the utilization of marine macro- or microorganisms - from whole organism to molecular level - to provide products, technologies and processes. It involves processes by which biological systems can be controlled, manipulated or modified. Hence, it is not only an excellent research subject, but also highly crucial in invention and manufacturing of high value products to the benefit of the society.
