Research interests

I am an environmental engineer with a background in water treatment. My main research focus is on anthropogenic pollutants in the aquatic environment. I primarily investigate particulate contaminants such as micro- and nanoplastics or tire and road wear particles. My work relates to particle transport and dynamics, e.g. gravitational settling, as well as approaches for environmental sampling.

At GEOMAR, I am currently working within the PlastTrack project.

Education

sched. 01/2025: PhD, "Settling velocities of microplastics and tire and road wear particles", supervised by Prof. M. Jekel (TU Berlin, Germany)

07/2018: Fast track PhD qualification (TU Berlin/UWI, Germany)

03/2017: Environmental Engineering, BSc. (TU Berlin, Germany)
