February 9, 2016: ISOS Panel Discussion

“Research Impact: How to Evaluate the Impact of Research on Society?”

The interaction between society and science is defined by an increasing demand for dialogue and accountability.
Outreach to and impact on society have thus become important challenges in science - for individual scientists as much as for institutions and funding bodies.
To evaluate the actual impact of academic research on society, concrete measures are needed, yet remain highly debated.

Panelists:
Dr. Dagmar Simon, Prof. Dr. Isabella Peters, Prof. Dr. Martin Visbeck, Prof. Dr. Martin Quaas

Moderated by  Siren Rühs, GEOMAR, ISOS PhD candidate

16:00 - 18:00 h Lecture Hall, GEOMAR Düsternbrooker Weg 20, 24105 Kiel
