"The ocean's role in climate change: what we know, and what we know we don't know"
The ocean-atmosphere interactions on all time scales is important for climate variations. We humans are currently conducting a dangerous and uncontrolled experiment by altering the composition of the atmosphere and thereby warming the planet and raising the sea level. What is the role of the ocean in regulating climate changes on time scale from decades to centuries? What do we know about about climate change and the role of the oceans? Many aspects are unknown and subject of intense ongoing research.
