• Development of imaging methods for the visualization, observation, and automated classification of microscopic objects in water (plankton, marine snow, mineral fragments, microplastics).
• Development of computer-based solutions to enhance the automated detection of plankton.
• Application of modern machine learning methods in a maritime context.
• Creation of digital twins of plankton: from individuals to communities. This includes 3D and 4D models, motion studies, life traits, biovolume, etc.
