Research Interests

I am interested in modelling higher trophic levels (fish, macroinvertebrates and sharks) and how they interact with the environment. I use, among other tools, the multi-species model OSMOSE one-way coupled to biogeochemical models to study the Humboldt Current System and the Western Baltic Sea.

Education and Employment

  • Since 2022 Researcher, GEOMAR
  • 2023 - 2024 3-month internship, Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals, UN Campus Bonn
  • 2018 - 2022 Doctorate, Kiel University/ GEOMAR

Teaching

Courses at the Humboldt-tipping Spring School 2024:

  • Introduction to ocean upwelling systems, marine ecosystems, and climate change
  • Ocean-biogeochemical modeling and ecological modeling
  • Ecosystem modelling with OSMOSE
  • Writing scientific papers from start to finish
  • Visual communication of science: How to improve my plots and figures

I have also supervised Bachelor's and Master's interns. If you would like to do an internship or thesis on a topic related to ecosystem modelling, send me an e-mail ;)
