Research interest

  • Small-scale processes in ocean and ice that drive the variability of the climate system studied as big data problems beyond single case studies
  • Development of hybrid models using machine learning in numerical models to learn new climate physics from observational data
  • Sea-ice dynamics: fracture, floes, leads, and ridges in high resolution sea ice and climate simulations, as well as airborne and satellite observations
