B1 – Simulation of Gas Hydrate Exploitation

Sub-project B1 develops reservoir models to test the SUGAR technologies numerically on the field-scale. Strategies will be devised for an optimized exploitation of gas hydrate fields using different drilling, production, and injection technologies. Thus, B1 will closely interact with B2 and B3, where these technologies are developed, as well as for calibration and refining of the models. The reservoir simulations will be complemented by an economic analysis and a hazard and safety assessment.
