Workshop

We offer our scientists a wide range of mechanical solutions for their research.

From custombuilt parts for laboratories to deep-sea applications, we design and manufacture out of a huge variety of different materials.

Our CAD/CAM system allows us to transfer the 3D-models directly to the CNC-centers with high precision machining up to 5-axis simultaneously.

The 3D-printshop offers FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) , SLA (Stereolithography) and SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) processing.

Using our coordinate measuring system we are able to control workpieces according to ISO-10360-2.

At the metalworking shop there are workspaces for welding, sheet metalprocessing and mounting.

We train up to three apprentices.

Instrument assembly hall

The heart of the department Seagoing Technologies is a central assembly hall, where two gantry cranes are available to move even heavy instruments for cruise preparation. Trucks and containers can be loaded and unloaded with forklifts on the container yard.

Devices not sensitive to temperature changes are stored in a large storage hall. Some instruments are available for cruises on request.

These facilities are part of the Ocean Research Technology Centre
