From January to June 2013, more than 60 European scientists carry out a long-term experiment on ocean acidification in Sweden. To find out more about the reactions of the marine community to climate change, the KOSMOS mesocosm facility developed in Kiel will be moored in the Gullmar Fjord from the German research vessel ALKOR. The field experiment taking place in the framework of BIOACID (Biological Impacts of Ocean ACIDification), the German project on ocean acidification, is lead by GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel.
