Forschungsinteressen
I am broadly interested in environmental science, with a particular focus on chemical marine environmental science and the impact of human activities on marine ecosystems. My research centers on mercury contamination, especially how anthropogenic sources such as mining influence the marine mercury biogeochemical cycle. I am particularly interested in understanding the pathways of mercury transport, transformation, and bioaccumulation in marine environments, as well as the associated ecological and human health risks. By integrating chemical analysis with environmental management perspectives, I aim to contribute to a deeper understanding of mercury dynamics and support the development of strategies for mitigating its impact on marine ecosystems.
