Research Interests
I am an isotope geochemist specializing in radiogenic neodymium (Nd) isotopes and rare earth element patterns to investigate ocean circulation, trace external inputs and understand chemical processes at oceanic interfaces. In addition, I apply non-traditional stable isotopes, such as silicon (Si) and barium (Ba), to study the controls on the biological pump, particularly nutrient uptake and organic matter remineralization. My research aims to elucidate the fundamental processes governing the distribution of trace elements in the ocean, which play a crucial role in marine ecosystems and climate regulation. Furthermore, I contribute to paleoclimate research by calibrating paleo proxies (Si, Ba and Nd isotopes) through a better understanding of their behavior in the modern ocean.
