Ich interessiere mich für die Kontrolle der Abundanz, Ökologie und Physiologie des Phytoplanktons im Ozean. Zu diesem Zweck setzt unser Team eine äußerst multidisziplinäre Kombination aus Feldforschung (meist auf Forschungsreisen im offenen Ozean), Phytoplankton-Kultivierungsexperimenten, verschiedenen Analysetechniken, numerischer Analyse und einfacher Modellierung ein. Ergänzt wird dies durch eine Kombination aus Satellitenfernerkundung und der Analyse von Klimamodelldaten.
